Wardworx Pty Ltd

What does your company do?

Wardworx is a mobile app created for doctors, by doctors. Wardworx simplifies the work of doctors working in public hospitals in South Africa. The app simplifies patient task lists and allows doctors to share their workload with other doctors in a team. Wardworx aims to improve patient outcomes and reduce physician burnout. Being an app launched during a pandemic, Wardworx is proud to have specific features designed to streamline the care of COVID19 patients, assisting doctors who work on the frontline.

What is your biggest success?

Wardworx went from dream to launch in only 11months. Although technically, launch is just the beginning, I am very proud of what we managed to achieve in such a short space of time with a small team, limited budget and limited experience. Wardworx was awarded 2nd place in the ICT category of the Gauteng Accelerator Program hosted by The Innovation Hub and since its launch in January 2021 has been downloaded by 1950 doctors and is growing by the day.

What has been your biggest hurdle?

Medical school doesn’t prepare you to be the founder of a healthtech start-up. I found myself juggling my day job on the frontline and the many ‘hats’ a founder must wear. This is where I learned to ask for help. Each time I picked up the phone and reached out for help, I was rewarded. From people in my network, to other founders who are technically my competition - everyone was so willing to support me. With this support, an incredible team and a healthy dose of bravery I grew into the role and am still learning every day.
