Activities successfully implemented include Gender-Based Awareness, Menstrual Hygiene Awareness coupled with DIGNITY PACKS distribution, Art therapy for children and the disabled, Stationery Drives, Uniform Drives, Textbooks Drives. A major milestone is training opportunity provided to 5 women to learn how to make leather bags, leather shoes and other accessories.
What is your biggest success?
Receiving the first grant of R50k from Gender Links for a Project titled: WOMEN & GIRLS FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19 AND SHADOW PANDEMICS; which covers:
1.1. Information sessions on GBV, Women's land rights, Menstrual Health for girls, Covid-19 vaccine rollout awareness coordinated
2. GBV resilience promotion through art and vegetable gardens
2.1. Arts activities to promote women and girls' resilience against GBV
2.2. Vegetable gardens activities to promote women's resilience against GBV with linkages to local feeding schemes
What has been your biggest hurdle?
My biggest hurdle is the delays from SARS to issue Public Benefit Organization ( PBO) certificate. This lowers our chances of securing sponsorships to fast track delivery of some of our pipeline community intervention
