S+AVA is made up of "Skintellectuals" and innovators with the drive to constantly update and improve your online shopping experience.
S+AVA aims to produce sustainable products for all skin & hair types, that are free from pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), ionizing radiation, as well as antibiotics and growth hormones. The skin is your biggest organ, S+AVA will provide you with the products to maintain and improve your biggest asset.
What is your biggest success?
Ms Silava June Ogana, founder of S+AVA ORGANICS (“S+AVA”) produced homemade cosmetic products for herself as a teenager because of unforgiving skin and hair problems. Thirteen years ago, she struggled to find the right cosmetic products. Today, very little has changed.
S+AVA aims to create the go-to organic beauty company for women and men from all walks of life. Back then, Ms Ogana gravitated towards organic and all-natural raw materials because the generic and synthetic products she found in-store provided less than satisfactory results.
After performing extensive ingredient and formula research, her background in the field of organic farming research gave her the basic tools necessary to dream up the formulae. Of course, this came with plenty of trial and error, but over time, lots of practice and listening to consumer feedback, she she settled on the formulae that make the products produce optimum results.
Being proudly African, Ms Ogana is passionate about sourcing fair trade, locally produced and authentic raw ingredients from around the African continent, guaranteeing the best quality products in the market. S+AVA combines traditional African beauty methods with investigative science to produce products that feature the best of both worlds, a concept that is highly demanded but not easily accessible to this fast growing niche. S+AVA sources its ingredients from Ghana, The Republic of Chad, Mozambique, Morocco and South Africa, to name a few.
In December 2018, S+AVA approached a top South African cosmetic scientist, who tested and perfected our product range from a dermatological standpoint. Because our products are new to the market, we have invested considerable resources in educating, marketing and converting pioneers in the beauty industry into trusted clients.

What has been your biggest hurdle?
S+AVA’s growth has been just as organic. We have followed a cost-lean model, meaning we have gradually built the company to the business we are today based mostly on the profits earned.
Apart from a slower pace in growth due to limited funding, our biggest hurdle to date is accessing mainstream retail, which will make our products readily to our customers nationwide.
