Redi Tlhabi, Radio & TV Presenter, Facilitator & Producer
This year we welcome renowned journalist Redi Tlhabi to our panel. With her reputation for authentic and entertaining broadcasting, Redi offers the wisdom acquired from spending years in the industry addressing social and political issues in South Africa. ‘The world needs leadership at this time,’ says Redi. ‘We need a leader who inspires confidence, is unshaken and rises to the occasion when challenged.’
While she’s known for her groundbreaking radio show, The Redi Tlhabi Show, on CapeTalk and 702, she’s also facilitated international debates on Al Jazeera and BBC World News; guest-anchored on SKY and BBC; and published her own memoir, Endings & Beginnings, as a reflection on the crisis of rape in SA.
As a sought-after public speaker, Redi offers invaluable advice and insight. Her involvement in sexual violence activism has led to marches against the harassment of women and girls, and her weekly column in The Sunday Times tackles hard-hitting topics from international trade to climate change.
Redi believes that the spirit needed to keep South Africa afloat is one of endurance and perseverance. ‘These are tough times and the global economic landscape is facing unprecedented turbulence. There is no debate that in this current climate, organisations and enterprises – regardless of size and sector – will require grit, adaptability and leadership to survive.`
WHAT REDI WILL BE LOOKING FOR: ‘The individual who will stand out for me is one who wants to make a difference and empower others as she rises up. That’s what it means to be an enterprising leader.’
