we employ previously unemployed ladies from Khayelitsha and surrounding areas and train them how to hand bake our delicious cookies which we then sell into various sectors.
What is your biggest success?
Being able to grow the business from employing 61 ladies to 87 and in doing so looking after all these families and ensuring they can not only survive but thrive.
for every 1000 cookies we bake per day we employ 1 lady, these ladies have never worked before and cant speak read or write English or Afrikaans so people are hesitant to employ them.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
being able to gain financial assistance to enable us to employ more ladies and grow even further.
we have big plans for the presnt year with a lot of prospects but financialy we are holding ourselves back.
