What does your company do?

Pet Farewells is a small family-owned business which has built a reputation for providing a quality service with endless compassion, caring and understanding for grieving pet owners but also the willingness to go above and beyond for all clients, including veterinary practices, welfares and private pet owners. Pet Farewells has a dynamic team that can offer a 7 day a week collection offering cremation and composting alternatives to pet owners following the loss of their beloved pet or equine companion. We are unique in our offering to all veterinary practices and pet owners with our environmentally friendly products which promote the planting of trees and the re-using of sustainably sourced materials.

What is your biggest success?

The organic growth of Pet Farewells without ever having marketed the business. Since our inception in 2021, we have not spent a cent on marketing the business. Instead, we invested in our team who ultimately represent the business and leave a lasting impression on the client. Dealing with heightened emotions, our team understand the importance of genuine quality service. We do not force our services on anyone, we let them decide based on who they feel most comfortable with. We are proud of the fact that we do not have a hierarchy in our business, we operate on the same level as a team. This I believe is what has led to the positive reputation of Pet Farewells with members who care and believe in what they do.

What has been your biggest hurdle?

Setting up the business without any capital. Starting Pet Farewells in 2021 was a challenge financially as we began at a loss in order to gain new business and retain existing clients. We do not hold our clients to contracts as most of our competitors do, so we rely on our quality of service to maintain our clients. We operated at a loss for 3 years with each year becoming more successful than the last. We finally began making a profit at the end of March 2024 and have grown steadily since.
