What does your company do?
We are a hair salon and boutique. This was my 2nd salon. First salon was Step Ahead Salon in Plumstead, Cape Town, which we opened in 2012, and sold in 2022.
What is your biggest success?
After being released from Polsmoor Prison after serving a 4.5years of my 9yr sentence, I opened a salon in Plumstead, which became a very successful business, employing 4 other staff. Then I opened a 2nd branch in Durbanville, employing 2 other staff. Building the Plumstead salon to a fantastic business, we sold it, and allowed me to focus on my other salon and my Inspirational Speaking, to encourage and help others that think that they are not good enough.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
Being told that I was a criminal and would never become anything. I was determined to prove to everyone that prison changed my life and I was not going to let anyone speak that over my life.
