What is your biggest success?
My biggest success has been the fencing projects I worked on this year which have shown me capabilities I never thought I had. I am hoping to get more projects similar to this one so I can hire more people within the company not just subcontractors
What has been your biggest hurdle?
My biggest hurdle has been to control my emotions on site. In the construction industry being female and black can be very challenging because the people you are working with develop an attitude towards you because you are a woman, so you need to build a very strong character to ensure that your instructions are followed and you are afforded the respect you need.
