What does your company do?
The Seed of Hope Organization is built on four pillars. At the beginning of the year, we provide school shoes to children in need. We identify a school, determine the number of children requiring shoes, and then ask our friends and families to donate. Our largest distribution to date has been 150 pairs of shoes.We also organize a Boys' Camp, known as the Gentlemen's Camp, where we bring together boys from our communities to create a safe environment and combat gender-based violence. we host a Ladies' Camp to empower young women.We gather women from all walks of life and empower them with entrepreneurial skills and effective parenting techniques."
Lastly, we spend a day at an orphanage, where we cater lunch for the kids and give them gifts.
What is your biggest success?
By the end of March 2024, our organization achieved a significant milestone by hosting a free boys' camp, welcoming 50 young participants. This initiative was monumental, as it provided a unique opportunity for these boys to engage in meaningful activities and discussions without any financial burden. The camp's success was bolstered by the involvement of father figures from our community, who played a crucial role in mentoring and supporting the boys. One of the camp's most impactful outcomes was witnessing many of these young men commit to ending gender-based violence. Their pledges to promote respect and equality marked a profound step towards creating a safer, more inclusive community. Hosting this camp for free was not just a logistical achievement but a vital investment in the future, fostering a generation dedicated to positive change and mutual respect.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
Our biggest hurdle has always been finances. Being Refined: The Seed of Hope is primarily sponsored by individuals, families, and friends. While we do charge for our camps, we recognize that our target market consists of people who often cannot afford to pay. This makes it challenging to sustain our programs, as sponsorships are not always guaranteed. Despite these financial constraints, our team remains committed to making a difference. We strive to provide enriching experiences for those in need, knowing that every contribution helps us reach our goal. However, to continue and expand our impact, we urgently need more consistent financial support. By securing more sponsors, we can ensure that our camps remain accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial situation.
