What does your company do?
We grow and sell organic fresh produce. Our products are free from synthetic chemicals.
What is your biggest success?
Our biggest success was winning women entrepreneur of the year under the category of commercial farmers in 2023. It was hosted by the Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. The other success was receiving the National Recognition Award in 2023 by the Department of Agriculture.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
Climate change, we experienced multiple heat waves in summer, which affected our crops, we lost 90 % of the seedlings that we transplanted. It was painful but had to figure out solutions and not give up. We managed to install shadenets and a water resevoir and replanted. We are currently harvesting and our plants look much better, there is sufficient water and they are protected from heat.
