What is your biggest success?
Tradishnal's most notable achievement lies in its journey from humble beginnings to becoming a leading manufacturer of high-quality custom-made bags in South Africa. Starting in a modest room, the company has expanded to occupy an impressive 295 square meters of production space, a testament to its growth and success. One key factor in Tradishnal's success is its commitment to diversification, constantly adapting to meet changing market demands. Recently, the company launched a new sister company called sak.sak, further expanding its offerings and market reach. Moreover, by providing in-house printing and embroidery services, Tradishnal has positioned itself as a one-stop shop for customers, offering convenience and efficiency. Through innovation, dedication to quality, and a customer-centric approach, Tradishnal continues to thrive in the competitive textile industry, setting a standard for excellence in craftsmanship and service.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
Tradishnal, like many textile manufacturers in South Africa, grapples with two significant hurdles: Chinese imports and the energy crisis. Chinese imports flood the market with low-cost textile products, undercutting local manufacturers on price. This intense competition erodes market share and profitability for domestic companies like Tradishnal. Additionally, South Africa's persistent energy crisis exacerbates operational challenges. Rolling blackouts and unreliable power supply disrupt production schedules, leading to inefficiencies and increased costs. These dual challenges of foreign competition and energy instability create a daunting environment for Tradishnal and other local textile businesses. Addressing these hurdles requires a multi-pronged approach, including measures to counter unfair trade practices, support for local industries through policy incentives, and investments in reliable energy infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted operations. Collaboration between government, industry stakeholders, and trade organizations is crucial to navigating these complex issues and fostering sustainable growth in the South African textile sector.
