What is your biggest success?
My greatest success at Rothko has been igniting the voices of African individuals and organisations, amplifying their stories through the power of storytelling. At just 23, my passion for storytelling led me to join Rothko. By 26, I became a co-owner, infusing the company with fresh energy and a bold, strategic vision.
Since then, I've charted a new course for Rothko, attracting local clients hungry for global reach and international brands eager to tap into Africa's boundless potential. With a keen eye and strategic brilliance, I've guided Rothko's ascent, welcoming a diverse array of impactful brands – from corporate giants to non-profit trailblazers – across education, sustainability, finance, and beyond.
However, my impact transcends mere client acquisition. I am the driving force behind Rothko's unwavering commitment to social responsibility and inclusivity, embodied in our 100% women-owned and 51% black-owned structure. This reflects my steadfast belief in empowering individuals and organisations to rise, thrive, and shape a brighter future through the transformative power of their stories. Crowning this journey, in March 2024, at the age of 33, I was appointed CEO to lead Rothko into a new era.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
My biggest hurdle has been adapting quickly and staying agile in an ever-changing, volatile economic landscape. The COVID-19 pandemic forced us to pivot from working in an office space to operating 100% online, which was initially challenging. However, we've adapted in a way that allows us to attract and collaborate with global clients and a global team. The hurdle I now face is navigating the integration of AI into our workflows productively and efficiently while creating more opportunities for creatives and our clients. Balancing profitability, creativity, and sustainability is an ongoing challenge, made more complex by juggling the roles of mom, wife, and business owner. Maintaining this balance while steering Rothko towards continued growth and innovation requires constant agility and the ability to pivot strategies seamlessly in response to ever-evolving market dynamics and technological advancements.
