At Gifted By Matte, we're more than just a business – we're a story of empowerment and passion. Founded in May 2022, we're a small, female black-owned enterprise based in vibrant Johannesburg. Our mission? To bring a touch of joy and tranquility into your life through our handcrafted creations.

That's the magic we strive for in every product we make. From candles to diffusers and body care, each item is crafted with care and love, specially tailored to enhance your home or personal sanctuary.
What sets us apart? It's our commitment to quality and sustainability. We believe in the power of nature, which is why our products are 100% natural and handcrafted. Our candles are made from soy wax and blended with essential oils for delightful fragrances. Plus, our reusable glass jars not only add a touch of elegance but also promote eco-conscious living.
But our journey doesn't stop there. We're dedicated to spreading our knowledge and passion for crafting. Through training sessions, we empower aspiring entrepreneurs, regardless of gender, to start their own ventures in the world of candle making, diffuser making and body care.
What is your biggest success?
Helping 6 female entrepreneurs start their own business in the candle and diffuser space, hosting training sessions that allows people to learn how to make their own products and start their own businesses. Being awarded the top small business startup award by the National Small Business Chamber in 2023. Having a loyal returning customer base. Being part of Decorex Africa in 2022.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
I have been fortunate with the business and the traffic that it has brought on – my biggest hurdle has been space to make the product. I am still operating in my small kitchen in my apartment, and with big orders the space does not afford me to get by at a faster rate.
