What is your biggest success?

I assumed control of the business in the middle of COVID, which had a devastating impact on small businesses. Although my store was initially designated as an 'ICU' store by Sorbet when I took over however I've always been a visionary. The first year was undeniably one of the toughest periods I've encountered, but it ultimately birthed what I now regard as my biggest success since acquiring the store Through dedication, a clear vision, a deep understanding of my customers' needs, fostering a strong team, delivering exceptional service, and strategically positioning my brand for profitability, I successfully transformed my store from an 'ICU' designation to a category C store. My store is currently experiencing a remarkable 130% growth in sales on average. Looking back, I am astounded by what I accomplished as one of the youngest black franchise partners in the Sorbet Group, especially amidst a challenging economy

What has been your biggest hurdle?

My greatest challenge has been sustaining and accelerating growth for my business, given the limitations of our current location and the economic demands of retaining repeat clientele. Unfortunately, our store is situated in an area that doesn't seamlessly align with the high-end market category My growth aspirations are significantly constrained by the following factors 1. The centre in which we are situated is predominantly utilised by nearby residents for essential shopping, rather than for lifestyle or leisure pursuits 2. Our store is situated in a relatively secluded area within the centre, which unfortunately reduces our visibility and hampers the foot traffic we desire. These circumstances have significantly limited our growth potential and will continue to do so unless we explore alternative locations
