Bokang Consulting Services (Pty) Ltd
What does your company do?
We help victims of crime find closure by investigating fraud, theft and asset misappropriation cases.
What is your biggest success?
Our greatest success was born from our loss. For two consecutive years, our company was not profitable. During this challenging period, I understood the true meaning of resilience - living, thriving, and leading during adversity. I also came to recognise the importance of defining clear organisational values, which may be used as a guiding light during tough times. We focused on always trying to answer two primary questions: did we accelerate justice? or did we provide our customer with closure? This journey taught us invaluable lessons about perseverance, adaptability, and the power of fostering values in our workplace culture.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
Our biggest hurdle has been high staff turnover. Our work revolves around continual acts of serving. Universities may provide the theoretical understanding of investigations, but they lack the ability to link graduates to purpose. As such, our biggest hurdle has been finding and recruiting individuals ready to serve. In the same vein, after years of trying to convince people to align their purpose with ours, we have had to develop a very low threshold for non-performers or people unwilling to strive to bring closure to our clients. So, the most important entry requirement is for individuals committed to accelerating justice.
