What does your company do?
SMME News is a print and online publication providing essential knowledge, skills and expertise to individuals and entrepreneurs in the small, medium and micro enterprises sector, aiming to enhance their success through advisory services, seminars and training workshops, while also acting as an open forum, profiling agent and advocating voice for SMME stakeholders, particularly focusing on capacity building for previously disadvantaged individuals and SMMEs in various environments.
What is your biggest success?
Securing funding that enabled the establishment of SMME News, acceptance into the incubator programs (Smart Xchange and Dimension Data), publisher's award as runner-up for best performing woman, donation of R280000 for additional equipment and expansion of print distribution t 4 districts in KZN.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
Challenges related to funding, marketing and fundraising skills, which were further exacerbated by the COVID-29 pandemic at a critical juncture in the project's development.
