What does your company do?
Gushmedia is a branding, digital marketing & events company focusing. On branding we do corporate identity, graphic and web design, printing and packaging. On digital marketing we maximise social media for advertising, email marketing and content creation. Then on printing and packaging we do large format, merchandise and corporate identity items based on client's need. On events we organise, host and facilitate events.
What is your biggest success?
My biggest success is hosting the one and only Thami Ngubeni in August of 2023 from the capacity of Strength Within A Woman, a non-profit organisation I run which empowers women who are or aspiring to be entrepreneurs. From planning the event and mobilising women from different fields and having different appetites but with one thing in common, hunger to enrich and equip themselves. That for me was a milestone! This year on our annual event, we will be hosting Zanele Mbokazi.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
My biggest hurdle which I also identify as an opportunity and learning curve has been trying to redirect or steer Gushmedia into a direction of growth in terms of our offering. I felt like I have been in the industry of informatics and design for long, I needed something challenging, speaking to a larger audience and for some time, I had been structurally caving trying to workout how to emerge while I invested on SWAW (Strength Within A Woman) by doing career workshops, virtual conversation with women on different topics, hosting sociocultural and recreational events to gather these women. I felt stuck a bit on the business side but flowing on the NGO side and struggling to find the balance.
Now through events, the balance has been; Gushmedia organises the events and facilitates the workshops that SWAW does and in this way, I can increase my capacity by building a team. In this way as well, the offering and services of Gushmedia are widened thus contributing financially to the NGO!
