What does your company do?
At Adult Education Institute, we empower adult learners to rewrite their stories through accessible, flexible, and high-quality education. We specialize in distance learning programs and accredited courses tailored for adults with minimal educational backgrounds who are eager to gain new skills, achieve their matric, and unlock new career pathways.
We take a practical approach to education, believing that real-world access and application are the keys to equipping our students for meaningful growth and change. Our courses promote digital literacy to ensure that all our learners—especially women in rural and underserved communities—are ready for the demands of a modern world.
We also want to equip women in rural areas to learn skills that will lead to local business and community growth. For example, our Basic Farming course provides essential knowledge and practical tools for women to start small-scale farming initiatives and contribute to sustainable development in their communities.
What is your biggest success?
Being nominated by Sunday World - Heroic Women 2024 and launching a basic farming bursary fund which has 10 women in the programme now
What has been your biggest hurdle?
Starting a business with R0 start up funding, only a vision and sense of urgency to help women across South Africa.
