What does your company do?
We are a waste management company specializing the safe removal and disposal of domestic, industrial, commercial and hazardous waste.We also provide recycling solutions. We are 100% owned female founded company
What is your biggest success?
Our biggest success was being awarded a waste contract by Sun International. We are the first female-run (and black) business to be awarded a waste management contract in the entire Sun International conglomerate.
Our other big success is being able to employ 65 permanent staff, 60% being female.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
Our biggest hurdle was funding our business in the growth stages. No bank or financial institutions were willing to take the risk of funding a start-up business. We had to learn the art of bootstrapping by using the little that we had to build everything that we now own. We went from owning one bakkie and 2 casual employees to owning 8 trucks and a staff count of 65 permanent employees.
