Thusong Projects is anon-profit organization that is doing community work and we do community work through a number of projects that we run for the benefit of the community.
What is your biggest success?
our greatest achievement at Thusong Projects is knowing that we are feeding 3000 people a day. Some of our beneficiaries don't have any means of income and the daily meals they get from Thusong are the only source of food for them
we are proud to say we helping a lot in fighting hunger in the community of the Vaal and knowing that atleast 3000 people on a daily basis don't go to bed on a hungry stomach and we have also restored faith and dignity to our beneficiaries through the many projects that we run.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
Our biggest hurdle is lack of funding to expand our projects and reach more beneficiaries. As an NPO we are totally depending on funding we get from different institutions and without funding we are unable to reach out to the communities in ways that we wish we could.
We currently have people on the waiting list to receive daily meals from Thusong but we find it very hard to help everyone because of lack of funding.
