What does your company do?
The foundation is a passionate registered nonprofit organization driven by the vision of empowering children, young people and women and making a positive contribution to society. Inspired by other foundations with similar values, our goal is to support our fellow women, youth and communities on their journey to success. Through empowerment and opportunities, we aim to be a catalyst for change, enabling young individuals to achieve their dreams.
What is your biggest success?
Our biggest success has been supporting various orphanages in and around Johannesburg north by donating clothes, food, and toys to the children. Our first initiative was the 60-Minute Nelson Mandela Drive, during which we raised funds and provided educational supplies, sanitary pads, and warm clothing for the children during the winter. This event also gave the children a platform to share their life experiences, creating hope for a better future. Additionally, we spent last Christmas with them, donating clothes and gifts to create a sense of family and warmth.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
Our biggest hurdle is financing the drives and not being to do more for them with all the ideas we have. The children love it when we are around them and being limited to how much time we are able to spend with them simply because we cannot always bring them something does hurt. Secondly, when the caretakers reach out to us to help improve their living conditions, we are unable to assist because of finances as well. It hurts when we are not able to provide for them.
