What is your biggest success?
Our biggest success has been transforming from a small, local security provider into a trusted, ISO 9001 and PSIRA-certified partner to major institutions like Life Hospitals, ABSA, Transnet and Camco Technologies an international client. One standout achievement was securing and successfully delivering integrated AI-driven security and automation solutions for multiple high-risk, high-demand environments—improving operational efficiency, compliance, and client satisfaction. Additionally, becoming an approved repair partner for leading insurers significantly expanded our footprint in the insurance sector. This recognition validated our technical expertise, reliability, and service excellence. It also positioned JRS Solutions as a benchmark for transformation in the ICT sector, proudly owned and led by a 100% Black female entrepreneur.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
Our biggest hurdle has been managing growth while reducing dependency on the founder for day-to-day operations. As demand for our services increased—especially from large institutions and insurers—we faced challenges in scaling our internal capacity, from proposal turnaround times to technical delivery. Cash flow constraints also created pressure, particularly when onboarding large clients with long payment cycles. This was overcome through strategic investments and access to targeted grants, which enabled us to recruit skilled staff, improve internal systems, and invest in proposal automation tools. Additionally, navigating complex procurement and compliance requirements in high-security sectors posed delays and administrative burdens. Despite this, we’ve made strong progress by grooming internal leaders, streamlining our quoting systems, and securing financial support that strengthened our capacity and positioned us for long-term, independent growth.
