What does your company do?
We provide services to the non-profit and development sector that focuses on advancing social justice. We focus on women's rights and gender equality; fundraising and sustainability and leadership and governance.
I am also a certified coach who provides coaching and mentorship to women and non-profits.
What is your biggest success?
My biggest achievement has been that I have been able to use my passion and my skills in the social impact space to advance the rights of women at a systemic and individual level. I believe that everyone is capable and that even as a consultant or coach I work with clients in a way that enables lasting change for them. This is also why many clients in my business are returning clients because they know that I am deeply committed , competent and successful in what I do. I am now able to create decent work opportunities for other women through my business, many older women who need flexibility but are often struggling because they are not Youth. However, I also prioritise giving opportunities to young women in the fields of their expertise. I am known to be a connector that has the ability give women access to networks and opportunities and there are many who can attest to the long lasting relationships that we have because they are always part of my community. I am on Instagram as @shireemotara.coach and on Linkedin as Shireen Motara
What has been your biggest hurdle?
My biggest hurdle has been to employ full time staff. The challenges being able to always afford all staff costs including benefits and tax is one many small women owned businesses face. I have however had to rely on part time and contract staff which may cost more but is more sustainable for now.
