What is your biggest success?
I am absolutely happy to share that got funded by Gauteng Enterprise Propeller a startup for input production. The opportunity became a game changer for me. Propelling my vision into reality. The infusion of support not only validates a pivotal moment in my journey towards success. With GEP support I now have the resources to innovate,grow and bring fresh good quality products to market. The funding instills a renewed sense of energy and purpose within our team driving me to push boundaries. And exceed my own expectations. This milestone marks the beginning of a new chapter filled with possibilities and incredible achievements. I am grateful to GEP for believing in my venture and are eager to make the most of the opportunity as I strive to make a meaningful impact in the poultry industry.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
My poultry business was struck by a devastating blow when a significant number of chickens perished, resulting in the loss of all my hard-earned profit. The sudden demise of these birds not only impacted the financial aspect but also dealt a heavy emotional toll. Each chicken represented an investment of time, resources, and care, making their loss deeply felt on multiple levels. The setback not only disrupted operations but also shattered the carefully laid plans for growth and sustainability. The financial repercussions were immediate and profound, wiping out profits and setting the business back significantly. Rebuilding from such a loss would require immense effort, time, and resources, as well as a strategy to prevent such devastation in the future. The incident served as a stark reminder of the vulnerabilities inherent in the poultry business and the importance of resilience in the face of unforeseen challenges.
