What does your company do?
Cassie Kids® is an award-winning international brand that is proudly manufactured in South Africa.
Cassie Kids® is also South Africa’s first non-toxic cruelty-free, mineral-based makeup for children that is safe and beautiful at the same time!
None of our products contain talc, parabens or any other harmful or unnecessary ingredients and all of our products are handcrafted in small batches to ensure that our makeup is safe for little bodies to use.
We want to help children develop a strong sense of self-expression and confidence as they explore their creativity through make-up play. It also helps our little loves develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and concentration, aside from having fun making a colourful mess!
As our team continues to grow, our mission remains the same: to empower women and make a positive difference in our community and country.
What is your biggest success?
Our biggest success has been that we have established a solid foot print in South Africa. We have established our small brand as a role player and are starting to be recognized as the leading manufacturer of natural and mineral kids makeup.
We were approached by a leading brand in kids hair accessories to do a collaboration which will then be in major retailers over the Christmas period.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
Our biggest hurdle is obtaining funding to test and register all our products for export. We have identified the UK as a key opportunity but the costs are prohibitive regarding product registration.
