What does your company do?
Tendalo Trading is a company that specializes with repurposing rubber tubes from cars, trucks and tractors into beautiful eco-friendly, durable, waterproof and ethically sourced bags. We recycle these rubber tubes to avoid the dumping and burning of them which causes land, water and air pollution that contributes greatly in the effects of global climate change. by recycling and upcycling these tubes, we mitigate the effects of Climate Change which is number 13 and Responsible Consumption and Production which is number 12 of the Sustainable Development Goals. We are part of a solution to a bigger problem.
What is your biggest success?
The first one would be launching my products, then Winning The Woolworths Youth Markers Competition and having my bags in their biggest stores in the country, Making it to the top 12 creation Africa Sa, Malawi and Lesotho with the French embassy.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
Having starting capital, capital enough to buy the required machines to sew the rubber without breaking. Being visible in the social spaces, marketing the business and product has to be the biggest hurdle I am still working on.
