What has been your biggest hurdle?
As a young female entrepreneur in South Africa, navigating the biodiesel and waste management industries which is heavily dominated by men is quite challenging itself. One of the biggest hurdles I’ve faced is accessing funding and investment opportunities. Many investors are hesitant to support women-led businesses in male-dominated industries, making it difficult to secure the necessary resources to grow and scale my business.
Additionally, there’s lack of awareness and understanding about the benefits of biodiesel and blockchain technology in waste management which makes it hard to convince customers and partners to adopt these solutions.
To overcome these challenges, I’ve had to be proactive in seeking out networking opportunities building relationships with potential customers, investors and partners about the value proposition of my business.
