Mrs Kia Crocket and machine knitting
What does your company do?
Production of knitting and crocheting wears, yarn and accessories store and vocational training.
What is your biggest success?
My biggest success in the knitting and crocheting business has been turning my passion into a thriving brand that connects with a loyal community. I launched a small online shop featuring my original patterns and handmade pieces, and through consistent quality, creativity, and customer engagement, it quickly grew. One of my proudest moments was having a signature crochet design go viral, leading to collaborations with yarn companies. Beyond sales, the real success is inspiring others to pick up their hooks and needles, and seeing my patterns brought to life by makers around my community.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
My biggest hurdle in the knitting and crocheting business has been balancing creativity with the demands of running a business. While designing and creating bring me joy, managing inventory, marketing, and customer service was initially overwhelming. It was challenging to price my work fairly while remaining competitive, especially when handmade items are often undervalued. There were moments of self-doubt, especially when sales were slow or patterns didn’t perform as expected. Learning to navigate social media algorithms and constantly staying visible was another steep learning curve. However, with time, I’ve built systems, gained confidence, and found a rhythm that allows me to focus on what I love while still growing the business.
