Zooty Frooty
What does your company do?
I make and sell wearable art in the Western Cape. Zooty Frooty is all about fun, feel good jewelery and accessories. I use clay and felt to make my colourful creations that I then sell online and at markets.
I also do art classes where I teach people how to express themselves in different mediums.
What is your biggest success?
My brand recognition is ever growing, it has been such a joy to meet strangers who know my business and art. But my biggest success has been appearing on Maties radio for an interview about my business. I also featured on Via where I did an art class for Amore Bekker on the show "Volksvreemd".
What has been your biggest hurdle?
I am the sole driving force behind my business, and though I do have assistance at times it can become exhausting. I am also on the autism spectrum, which brings unique challenges in the business world.
There was a point where I almost gave up, but persisted because a repeat customer reached out to me letting me know that she loves her earrings. It is grueling work and long hours, but I believe in my product and the feedback I receive.
