We are an upmarket hair salon.
What is your biggest success?
I received a 9years prison sentence for drugs, served 4, and turned my life around, opened a hair salon in Southern Suburbs in Cape Town called Step Ahead Salon, in 2013 and turned it into a hugly, successful business. I then opened a second one in Northern Suburbs in 2018. I worked between both. I sold the Southern Suburbs salon and the name to a buyer and rebranded my salon in Northern Suburbs to Patrick Taylor Salon. We have grown from strength to strength. We are in our 7th year now in 2025.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
Was raped at 9 by a family member for 2 1/2 years, then lost my dad (who was my protection) in my matric year. I was broken. Thank goodness for my prison sentence. It forced me to have introspection and have the growth within myself, and proving that you can do anything, no matter where you come from.
