ESQ Skincare is a natural, science-driven skincare brand that creates high-performance anti-aging solutions using ethically sourced botanical ingredients and clinically proven actives. What is your biggest success?
My biggest success has been building ESQ Skincare from concept to a trusted, growing brand that delivers real results and empowers women to feel confident in their skin. I formulated each product myself as a qualified cosmetic chemist, combining science-backed actives with South Africa’s rich natural botanicals. One of our proudest moments was launching on Faithful to Nature, a highly respected clean beauty platform, which validated both our formulations and our ethical approach. Customer feedback and loyalty—especially the visible skin transformations shared by women across South Africa—have been the greatest proof of success. Seeing ESQ Skincare products in the homes and hands of women who once struggled to find skincare that truly worked is deeply fulfilling
What has been your biggest hurdle?
My biggest hurdle has been building a skincare brand from the ground up with limited resources while balancing the roles of founder, formulator, and marketer. As a newly qualified cosmetic chemist, I had the scientific knowledge, but bringing ESQ Skincare to market required learning the complexities of manufacturing, compliance, branding, and e-commerce—largely on my own. Funding was also a challenge, which meant every decision had to be strategic and cost-effective without compromising on quality. Breaking into a competitive industry as a small, independent brand was daunting, especially while educating customers about the value of natural, science-driven skincare. However, overcoming these challenges has made the journey more rewarding and reaffirmed my commitment to creating products that truly deliver.
