NurseCare Agency
What does your company do?
NurseCare Agency is a professional nursing recruitment and placement agency created to meet the growing demand for general and critical care nurses across South Africa. With a broad client base throughout all 9 provinces in the country we are able to offer our nursing personnel access to a range of temporary nursing vacancies within the private and public healthcare facilities, and the nursing and private homes.
What is your biggest success?
My biggest success has been starting NurseCare Professional Recruitment and Placement Agency from scratch, with no major capital or backing, and managing to keep it alive through persistence, self-funding, and sheer belief. While we haven’t achieved financial growth yet, I’ve built the foundational systems, compliance structures, and partnerships necessary for future success. I’ve positioned the agency in networks that matter, been invited to key programs, and most importantly, I’ve kept the vision alive despite every reason to give up. That resilience is my proudest achievement so far.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
My biggest hurdle has been gaining access to decision-makers within the healthcare sector, particularly in an environment where established relationships and networks often determine opportunities. Despite my best efforts, reaching the key individuals—many of whom are women in leadership positions—has proven challenging due to gatekeeping and the limited visibility of emerging, black-women-owned agencies like mine. This has slowed the growth of NurseCare, even though I’ve built the systems, compliance structures, and passion-driven mission needed to serve the industry. However, I remain committed to breaking through these barriers by leveraging every opportunity to build credibility, including platforms like this one, strategic networking, and mentorship from women who have walked this path before me.
