What is your biggest success?
My biggest success has been leading Step Ahead Staffing in contributing to an international project with Ernst & Young (EY), one of the Big 5 professional services firms. Already equipped with strong leadership, strategic, and communication skills, I was able to position our agency as a trusted partner in delivering talent solutions that met global standards. This opportunity not only expanded our international footprint but also reinforced the credibility of our brand in high-level professional circles. It was a proud moment to see our work recognized and integrated into a project of such scale, demonstrating that a local agency like ours can deliver excellence on a global stage.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
My biggest hurdle has been breaking the stigma around hiring persons with disabilities. Despite their skills, many are overlooked due to misconceptions about their capabilities or the assumed cost of workplace accommodations. Through Step Ahead Staffing, I’ve worked tirelessly to educate employers, advocate for inclusive hiring practices, and showcase the incredible value that disabled talent brings to the workforce. Changing mindsets hasn't been easy—it requires persistent engagement, awareness campaigns, and strategic placements that demonstrate success. We've partnered with organizations like QASA to connect skilled candidates with the right opportunities, proving that ability, not disability, should define employment. Overcoming this hurdle continues to be a work in progress, but each placement and every employer mindset shifted marks real progress toward a more inclusive and equitable workforce.
