Caring Daisies
What does your company do?
Caring Daisies is a women-led nonprofit initiative rooted in compassion and community upliftment. Our mission is to bring dignity, hope, and practical support to vulnerable individuals and families across South Africa. We focus on addressing urgent needs—whether it’s providing food, clothing, and shelter, or responding to crises like medical emergencies or disaster relief. At the heart of our work is a dynamic network of women who mobilise quickly, act with empathy, and deliver impactful help where it’s needed most. We partner with communities, businesses, and volunteers to bring lasting change through love in action. Caring Daisies is not just an organisation—it’s a movement of everyday kindness, purpose-driven service, and hope restored.
What is your biggest success?
One of my proudest achievements is launching our "Manna vir die Boere" project during one of South Africa’s worst droughts. While many farmers were struggling to survive, we brought communities together in an extraordinary show of solidarity. Farm women baked thousands of homemade cookies, which we sold to raise funds for drought-stricken farming families. The response was overwhelming—every cookie represented hope. We delivered food parcels, animal feed, and emotional support to those hardest hit, reminding them they were not forgotten. This initiative didn’t just raise money—it restored dignity, uplifted rural communities, and united people across provinces. Seeing farm families hold on through the worst because of what started as a small act of care—that’s the heart of Caring Daisies, and my greatest achievement.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
My biggest hurdle has been sustaining the emotional and financial demands of running a grassroots organisation like Caring Daisies. We often respond to heartbreaking situations—families losing everything, children going hungry, women fleeing abuse—and it takes a deep emotional toll. At the same time, we rely heavily on public support and donations, which can be unpredictable. Balancing the urgency of need with limited resources, while staying strong for others, has been one of the toughest challenges. Yet, it’s also where I’ve grown the most learning to trust the process, lean on our community, and never underestimate the power of one act of kindness to create a ripple of change.
