Baaa Health
What does your company do?
Baaa Health is a purpose-driven wellness company that creates nutritious, functional foods designed to nourish the body, reduce the burden of lifestyle related disease and empower communities. We produce health-focused snacks, juices, and other products that support healthy lifestyles, using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible.
Beyond the product, our mission is to build a more sustainable and inclusive food system—one that gives small-scale farmers, youth, and women a real seat at the table. We are launching a programme to help schools grow tech-powered gardens using hydroponics and entrepreneurial skills training, so learners can grow their own produce and even build small businesses from it.
Our work is about more than health—it's about impact, empowerment, and creating opportunities where they didn’t exist before.
What is your biggest success?
My biggest success has been the lives we’ve touched by supporting and uplifting local businesses. Through Baaa Health, we’ve been able to source from small-scale farmers, work with youth-owned enterprises, and create opportunities that go far beyond just profit.
Seeing others thrive because we chose to include them in our value chain—that’s the real win. For me, success is measured in the impact we leave behind, and I’m proud to say we’re building something that gives back in real, lasting ways.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
Our biggest hurdle came after COVID-19, when we had to scale back production due to financial strain and internal system challenges. The pandemic disrupted our operations and revealed gaps in our business structure—especially around cash flow, inventory management, and consistent access to market. We were passionate and had great products, but without the right systems and financial support, we couldn’t grow the way we’d planned. It was a tough season that forced us to pause, reflect, and rebuild. While it was incredibly challenging, it also gave us the opportunity to strengthen our foundations. We’ve since worked hard to create better processes and become more resilient. That period tested our vision, but it also deepened our commitment to building a business that lasts.
