What does your company do?
Farmers Hope is a farm that is based in the village called Kgomokgomo. we plant vegetables and process some of the vegetables. we train youth in vegetable production. we care so much for the environment and we use kraal manure to fertilize our soil to avoid using harsh chemicals. we also host university students to do work integrated learning.
What is your biggest success?
we managed to drill 3 boreholes
we employed 29 seasonal workers during may 2024 and May 2025 paying them minimum wage in partnership with solidaradard South Africa
we saved more than 60 000 litres of water per month by using drip irrigation
we bought processing equipment for our facility whereby we process our dried vegetables
What has been your biggest hurdle?
last year we had a crisis with water and lost cabbages worth R150 000 in 2 months.
