What does your company do?
Our company is a full-service florist specializing in creating beautiful, handcrafted floral arrangements for all occasions. We work with flowers, flowers that puts a smile on everyone's face. Whether it’s a wedding, birthday, funeral, or corporate event, we design custom bouquets and floral installations tailored to our clients’ needs. We also sell as wholesalers. We also started planting our own pennygum trees and had our first harvest of sunflowers. We make Valentines Day, Mother’s Day and any other day special as you wish for it. At the heart of what we do is a passion for creativity, quality, and excellent customer service. We aim to make every moment more memorable with flowers that speak from the heart.
What is your biggest success?
Every year I achieve a bigger success in my business. I think the biggest one will always be the one where everything started. I started with a bunch of proteas with some fynbos, my goal was to get 50 orders, hopefully. I started it for extra pocket money. At the end of the day I had 317 bunches on order. After all that orders, I got calls from people to know if I can supply for their wedding. That lead to me getting contacts of other fresh flowers and at the end of the day, changing from a wholesaler to a florist.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
I started small, but it grew as a business very quick. My vision was the help brides to not pay thousands of rands for wedding flowers, because I started and realized flowers are not that expensive as we'll think. I didn't know all the tricks of doing wedding flowers and collaborate with another florist, just to soon get bad mouth by her, telling me I'm a tread. I could have given up there and then but I keep trying until I succeed. Sometimes you sell everyday flowers, sometimes for weeks you don't, I just learned to never give up!
