What does your company do?
QUEMS Consulting supports businesses in building quality systems that actually work, systems that help them grow, stay consistent, and meet global standards like ISO 9001. We work mostly with small to mid-sized companies and those in regulated industries, guiding them through the process of aligning their operations with international best practices. It’s not just about ticking boxes, it’s about creating structure, reducing risk in daily operations , and building a foundation they can scale on to reach even internal markets. Also most importantly train their employees to ensure alignment throughout the organisation.
What is your biggest success?
One of my proudest moments was securing our first retainer client, it was a turning point that brought stability and trust in what we offer. Another major success was guiding a client through the implementation of an Integrated Management System that went beyond ISO 9001 to include ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. That project proved we could handle complex work and deliver results. But honestly, the biggest success has been watching businesses shift how they think about quality, from something they have to do, to something that helps them grow. That mindset change means everything to me.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
Starting out as a small business with no name in an industry dominated by large, established players was and still is incredibly tough. It felt like no one would take a chance on me, especially when I was approaching clients who’d never even heard of ISO 9001. Convincing small businesses to invest in building systems, when they’re just trying to survive day-to-day, was an uphill battle. But I knew the value, and I believed in what I was offering. It took a lot of persistence, education, and relationship-building to get people to see that these systems weren’t just for ticking boxes, they were tools for growth. Also the biggest challenge is not being to hire someone within the business to handle the day to day administrative tasks.
