What does your company do?
Dillets is essentially a range of SABS approved organic sanitary towels manufactured in Siyabuswa, in the outskirts of Mpumalanga.
A 100% black female youth owned company established in 2022.
Dillets exist to provide high quality, low price menstrual hygiene solutions for indigent girls whose socio-economic prospects are negatively affected by lack of access to menstrual hygiene products.
What is your biggest success?
Dillets was awarded the first prize at the recently held National Presidential MSME and Cooperation Awards ceremony, which essentially represents the pinnacle of small business achievement in South Africa, bringing together the best of the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Dillets was awarded first prize at Mpumalanga Bambelela Business Awards Ceremony, where community impact and other achievements by local entrepreneurs in the province were recognized. Furthermore, Dillets was recognised by Mail & guardian for our contribution in the health and wellness sector
What has been your biggest hurdle?
The constrained availability of capital or lack of funding affects small business growth. Even though smaller businesses seek to achieve minimum efficient scale, they are more likely to be unable to obtain sufficient capital from external sources in order to expand their businesses.
