The First Step
What does your company do?
The First Step NPC is a registered, grassroots-driven non-profit company committed to building profitable, community-owned businesses for African people—independent of political influence.
Our mission is clear: to leave a lasting legacy for future generations by reclaiming our economic power and directing it towards sustainable change.
We are taking The First Step through small, consistent monthly contributions—starting from just R10.00—made by us, the united majority.
With these collective contributions, we aim to achieve the following objectives:
Ethically Run Charity Initiatives
Providing essential support—such as sanitary pads, school uniforms, and food parcels—to families and individuals in need.
Sustainable Job Creation
Creating community-led ventures that offer dignified, stable employment opportunities for our people.
Business Development
Supporting and funding local Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to drive economic growth and ownership.
Food Security
Securing land and investing in agriculture to nourish our communities and reduce dependency.
Ethical Financial Institutions
Establishing Black-owned banks and financial services that serve and empower our communities.
Quality Healthcare
Building clinics and hospitals that are accessible, affordable, and ethically operated.
Education for Empowerment
Developing schools and universities that prepare future generations with pride, knowledge, and purpose.
This is our First Step—a movement by the people, for the people.
Together, with unity and vision, we will shape a future rooted in dignity, prosperity, and self-reliance.
What is your biggest success?
My greatest achievement was founding a self-funding organization that successfully raised over R150,000 — entirely from strangers who believed in the same vision and purpose.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
Our biggest hurdle right now is marketing the organization and building brand awareness, even though we know there is a real hunger for an organization like ours in the community.
