What is your biggest success?
Empowering a team of four remarkable women to flourish in our guesthouse – not just as hostesses, but as atmosphere creators, magic makers, beautifiers, and proud custodians of unforgettable experiences. Together, our passionate team – all amateurs – recently rose to the challenge of cooking, plating, and serving a 'Frans-Karoo' three-course breakfast paired with MCC, for 40 guests, two mornings in a row, as part of the annual StoepTasting festival.
We strive not only to exceed expectations but to transform first-time visitors into returning friends, welcomed back with warmth each time they walk through our doors.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
I realised from the onset that I need to market our village, and not just our guesthouse. A rising tide lifts all boats. The biggest challenge remains the same after six years – to attract more guests to our village and guesthouse in order to have more ‘bums in beds’. Covid was also a major challenge – it hit us just after we have opened the guesthouse in December 2019.
