CompleteProperty
What does your company do?
CompleteProperty has entirely transitioned from a reactive property maintenance business, to a preventative maintenance company. We are transforming and revolutionising the way commercial infrastructure is maintained across Africa by offering a predictive, IoT-powered preventative maintenance solution. In many African countries, infrastructure suffers due to reactive maintenance approaches, which result in frequent equipment breakdowns, unplanned downtime, higher repair costs, and wasted energy. Commercial buildings such as schools, hospitals, warehouses, and grocery stores as well as residential properties often lack visibility into the health of their systems, making them vulnerable to costly disruptions and inefficiencies.
CompleteProperty directly addresses this challenge by integrating Internet of Things (IoT) sensors into building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical etc.) to collect real-time data on performance and usage. This data is then analyzed to detect early signs of wear, energy inefficiencies, or potential faults. Clients are alerted before problems escalate, allowing them to schedule proactive maintenance and avoid system failures altogether, saving them lots of time and money.
What is your biggest success?
Although our full relaunch is set for June 2025, our biggest success has been building a future-forward model that’s already capturing attention from industry leaders and partners. We’ve secured a partnership with a U.S.-based IoT sensor company, gained mentorship from respected business coaches, and initiated talks with major property development companies. This groundwork has positioned CompleteProperty as a high-potential innovator in property tech. Winning this award would validate the early belief in our vision: that Africa’s infrastructure can be preserved and elevated through smart, preventative solutions. We are not just launching, we are entering the market as change-makers.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
Our biggest hurdle has been bootstrapping a tech-driven company without external funding, while proving the value of a new model in a traditional industry. Property maintenance in South Africa is largely reactive; shifting mindsets toward preventative solutions using IoT technology has required immense education, resilience, and strategic partnerships. As a young woman-led startup entering a male-dominated space, credibility was not handed to us—it had to be built, pitch by pitch, and meeting by meeting. Yet these challenges became our fuel. Each no sharpened our clarity, and every closed door forced us to think more creatively and prove our value even louder.
