Busetsa Projects Pty Ltd
What does your company do?
BUSETSA is a multifaceted company with two core divisions: BUSETSA Consulting and Training Services, and BUSETSA Mining Maintenance and Training Services. Our Consulting and Training division is QCTO-accredited and specialises in ICT training, media content management, robotics process automation, business consulting, and project management. We are committed to bridging the digital skills gap and empowering individuals, especially youth and women, with career-focused, practical training that meets industry needs.
Our Mining division, established in 2015, provides professional conveyor belt solutions, maintenance, and component services to major clients such as Harmony Gold and Sasol. Through both divisions, BUSETSA is dedicated to skills development, job creation, and sustainable business solutions that drive socio-economic growth in South Africa.
What is your biggest success?
My biggest success has been building Busetsa from the ground up into a dual-industry company serving the education and mining sectors. On one side, we've empowered hundreds of individuals, especially youth and women, through accredited ICT and business training aligned with national development goals. On the other hand, we've secured long-term contracts with major mining clients like Harmony Gold and Sasol, proving our technical reliability and business resilience. What began as a small vision has become a sustainable enterprise that creates jobs, develops skills, and drives transformation in South Africa.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
One of my biggest hurdles has been sustaining and growing Busetsa without any external financial aid or investment. Despite our impact in both the training and mining sectors, we have not received funding support from government programs, grants, or investors. Every step has been self-funded, and while we have generated income through services and training, the profits have not been enough to fully sustain or expand the business to meet growing demand. This financial strain has limited our ability to hire more staff, invest in advanced resources, and reach underserved communities that would greatly benefit from our programs. It’s a constant balancing act, delivering quality services while managing tight budgets. However, this challenge has strengthened my resilience, creativity, and commitment. I’ve learned to maximise limited resources and remain focused on long-term impact, even in the face of financial uncertainty."
