What does your company do?

The Grab and Go Foundation is a community-driven initiative based in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, South Africa. Focused on providing accessible meals to those in need, the foundation operates a soup kitchen that serves free, nutritious meals to vulnerable individuals and families. Their mission is to combat food insecurity and offer support to communities facing economic challenges. The foundation's approach emphasizes convenience and dignity, allowing individuals to "grab and go" with their meals, which is particularly beneficial for those who may not have the time or resources to stay for a sit-down meal. This model ensures that assistance is both practical and respectful of the recipients' circumstances.

What is your biggest success?

Grab and Go Foundation: Making a Lasting Impact Over the past five years, the Grab and Go Foundation has proudly served more than 10,000 individuals through our community soup kitchen and outreach programs. Committed to combating hunger and restoring dignity, we've focused on providing accessible, nutritious meals to those in need across Port Elizabeth and surrounding communities. In addition to our meal distribution efforts, we’ve partnered with Nelson Mandela University to expand our community impact. Through this collaboration, we successfully organized clothing donation drives that brought warmth and support to orphan homes, ensuring that vulnerable children received essential items and a message of hope. Our work continues to grow—fueled by compassion, community support, and the unwavering belief that small acts of kindness can transform lives.

What has been your biggest hurdle?

Support Needed: Help Us Reach More Lives For the past five years, the Grab and Go Foundation has served over 10,000 people, offering food, clothing, and hope to vulnerable communities in and around Port Elizabeth. But behind every meal we serve is a growing challenge. We currently have no consistent funding or transport. Our dedicated volunteers walk long distances—often carrying food by hand—to reach those in need. This limits how much we can deliver and how many people we can serve. We are calling on kind-hearted individuals, businesses, and community partners to help us continue and expand our mission.
