Holding Hands Foundation
What does your company do?
Holding Hands Foundation break the cycle of poverty and restore hope in the people of Limpopp,It plays a vital role in supporting vulnerable communities, especially in rural areas of Limpopo. We tackle pressing social and health challenges such as HIV, substance abuse, mental health, and teenage pregnancy through education, counseling, and outreach programs. Our team provides emotional and psychological support to individuals and families affected by these issues, helping them make informed choices and access available resources. We visit schools and communities to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and promote healthy lifestyles. By offering compassionate care, practical support, and hope, we aim to build a stronger, healthier, and more resilient society.
What is your biggest success?
Providing counselling services to young people, helping them navigate emotional challenges and make informed life choices.
Restoring hope to teenagers through our sanitation initiative, ensuring access to menstrual hygiene products and education, particularly in underserved rural areas.
Bringing joy to children by hosting a heartwarming Christmas party, complete with thoughtful gifts that made the festive season special and memorable for many.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
Limited Funding: Securing consistent funding remains one of our biggest hurdles. The demand for our services often outweighs the financial resources available, making it difficult to sustain and expand our outreach.
Inadequate Donations: While the generosity of our supporters is deeply appreciated, the volume of in-kind and financial donations often falls short of the growing needs of the communities we serve — especially in areas such as sanitation supplies, food parcels, and educational materials.
Technological Barriers: Operating in remote rural areas comes with limited access to stable internet connectivity and digital tools. This affects communication, data management, and our ability to apply for online funding opportunities or promote our work through digital platforms.
Lack of Support and Partnerships: As a grassroots organisation, we face challenges in building strong networks and partnerships that could amplify our impact. More collaboration with other NGOs, government departments, and local stakeholders is needed to enhance our reach and sustainability.
