What does your company do?
Women of Worth is a faith-based, women-led non-profit organization in South Africa dedicated to empowering underprivileged women and girls who have experienced abuse and hardship.
What is your biggest success?
At Women of Worth, our most significant accomplishment has been the consistent organization of annual retreats, conferences, and empowerment camps tailored for women and girls from underprivileged communities. These events have provided safe spaces for healing, spiritual growth, and practical empowerment, enabling participants to rebuild their lives with dignity and strength.
A particularly memorable highlight was hosting an international speaker from the United States, whose presence and message deeply resonated with attendees. This event not only broadened the horizons of the women and girls we serve but also underscored the global solidarity in the fight against abuse and hardship.
Through these initiatives, we've witnessed transformative journeys—women rediscovering their worth, embracing their purpose, and stepping into roles of leadership within their communities. This enduring impact stands as a testament to our commitment to empowering the next generation.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
At Women of Worth, our most significant challenge has been securing consistent funding to sustain and expand our programs for underprivileged women and girls. While our annual retreats, conferences, and empowerment camps have profoundly impacted participants, financial constraints have limited our ability to reach more communities and provide continuous support.
Additionally, we face systemic challenges prevalent in South Africa, such as gender-based violence, economic disparities, and cultural norms that often hinder women's empowerment. These societal issues not only affect the women we serve but also influence the resources and support available to organizations like ours.
Despite these obstacles, our unwavering commitment to empowering women through faith-based initiatives and practical support remains steadfast. We continue to seek partnerships and resources to overcome these hurdles and expand our reach to uplift more women and girls in need.
