TimiaAfrica NPO
What does your company do?
Timia-Africa is a nonprofit organization founded by progressive African female leaders to advance the lost social issues of equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) to achieve social cohesion. We address systemic injustices through educational programmes in conflict resolution (mediation), peacebuilding and health. Our methodology includes in-person engagement and multimedia to empower communities with knowledge and skills for sustainable change e.g. live dialogues, mediation workshops and podcasts with experts to uncover issues that are often too difficult for the general public to digest.
Rooted in the values of justice, respect, and collaboration, our initiatives align with the South African Constitution, the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and the African Union’s vision. We work toward a just society where all people—regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, or politics—can thrive in harmony, with equitable access to all human values, rights and privileges.
What is your biggest success?
Source and recruit board members, ambassadors, partners who contribute to co-creating or partnering on our programmes with commitment because they see the potential and need for addressing the issues that are important to every human being. They can visualize the impact of the end result.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
We are not a standard NPO and finding the right sponsor/funder/donor who is not invested in genuinely investing in human value, misses our mission. They do not see the intersectionality of life and miss the fact that unhealthy, whole humans cannot produce or create profit. Or we have not found the right partners.
