What does your company do?
The Mia Publishing & Distribution Group (trading as Mia House of Publishing) is an independent publishing company founded during the COVID pandemic, when hope for the future seemed to be very scarce. Established in 2021, nestled in the heart of Oudtshoorn, South Africa, our journey began with a passion – to help authors and bring hope to a world filled with negativity, hurt and darkness. Our primary focus is self-publishing Christian-based books, unlocking the door for budding authors to share their testimonies and stories of hope and inspiration. We guide and support authors throughout the process – from editing, layout, and proofreading to cover design and ISBN assignment. We craft captivating New Release and Social Media ads to amplify authors book's visibility, reaching readers across platforms. With our print-on-demand option and distribution channels via Mia Book Café, the author's masterpiece will get into the waiting hands of book enthusiasts far and wide.
What is your biggest success?
As a published author myself, I wanted to assist others with the process of sharing their testimonials and stories of hope. We were established without any funding, and today have published more than 30 books and ebooks.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
Distribution channels in South Africa has been a big hurdle, with the type of genres that we publish.
