Sanaandi Events & Hospitality
What does your company do?
Sanaandi Events & Hospitality is a boutique lifestyle brand that curates meaningful experiences through three distinct divisions: Pleasant Places—a serene countryside guesthouse and garden venue in the Midlands Meander; Sanaandi Events—a premier event planning service known for stylish, intentional gatherings; and Maua Blossoms—a floral and gifting studio that helps people express appreciation and love. Across all offerings, we are rooted in heartfelt hospitality, community collaboration, and exceptional service. Whether it’s hosting a guest, designing a celebration, or delivering a bespoke bouquet, we’re in the business of making people feel seen, celebrated, and cared for. We exist to light candles of joy, one experience at a time.
What is your biggest success?
My greatest success has been bringing to life Pleasant Places, a countryside guesthouse nestled in the KZN Midlands Meander—a dream I carried since childhood. Opening its doors in 2022, Pleasant Places has grown into more than just a guesthouse; it’s become a sanctuary where guests arrive as strangers and leave as family. This achievement represents years of dedication to hospitality, a deep understanding of people, and a passion for creating meaningful experiences. It's also the foundation upon which I've expanded Sanaandi Events & Hospitality into a multi-division brand, including events, floral gifting, and a vision for in-room wellness and bespoke linen offerings. It’s a success built not only on resilience but on a genuine desire to light the candles of others while nurturing my own.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
My biggest hurdle has been balancing vision with capacity. As a creative entrepreneur with multiple ideas, I often found myself wanting to do everything at once—launching a guesthouse, growing an events brand, exploring retail, and supporting community projects. Learning to pace myself, prioritize, and build systems that allow me to work on the business and not just in it has been essential. Another challenge was overcoming imposter syndrome—especially in male-dominated or corporate spaces—while carving out a unique voice in the hospitality sector. Through mentorship, community, and self-belief, I’ve grown from overworked to intentional, from doubting to daring. Each hurdle has shaped me into a more strategic and grounded leader.
