We are fighting against substance abuse and abusive behaviour
We are conducting awareness programme to individuals, community, schools, churches, government departments
We give educationsl sessions on parenting. Social life skills, counseling sessions. Also formation of community support groups for youth and parents separately.
What is your biggest success?
I have seen many lives changed by what we are doing. Some children have started to listen to their parents with improved behaviour. Marriages who have been on the verge of disintegration have been revived. Many youth have discovered the meaning and purpose of God in their lives. Parenting skills to many parents have improved well.
Some children have been helped to stop using drugs and start working and continue schooling. I have managed to break off (for good) from busy hospital work to come and work with the community much closer and more effectively. It was not easy to break off but with the help of God, i did. This has given me more opportunity to help in fullfilling my dream of having more South African kids mentally free of drugs and more marriages revived.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
The project is not funded. We have been under great financial constraints. All what we have done has been out of our pockets.
Much pain has been felt because of lack of finances since I resigned from Government hospital since April 2023.
I am a medical Practitioner but very difficult to get paying patients in these deep rural areas in our community, away from cities. Difficult to get funding.
I struggle to feed my family, but my joy is seeing a smile in the previously crying South Africans.
We have trouble convincing some troubled people to come for help.
